[BUGFIX] Prevent file selection via name link when denied by IsFileSelectableEvent, merged into the main branch in April 2025. I also review core changes on Gerrit.

About

I am a senior software engineer specialising in TYPO3 and AI-assisted engineering. I design and build TYPO3 platforms, move large installations safely from one LTS version to the next, and build the agentic tooling that makes this work faster and more reliable. I have worked with TYPO3 since 2014, and as a full-stack developer with Symfony, Laravel and Neos.

Today I am a Senior TYPO3 Developer at jweiland.net. Before that I spent three and a half years as a full-stack developer at Bloom GmbH in Munich, and nearly six years at PIT Solutions in Trivandrum, India, where I grew from software engineer to lead software engineer.

I give back to the TYPO3 project: I contribute to the TYPO3 core and to more than 30 TYPO3 community extensions, with fixes, upgrades to new TYPO3 versions and reviews. See Open source and my GitHub profile.

AI is part of how I engineer, not a gimmick. I build agentic workflows with Claude Code: plugins, skills, subagents and hooks that take inventory of a TYPO3 installation, plan an upgrade one LTS version at a time, migrate extension code and review the result. The agents do the legwork; tests, smoke comparisons against the live site and my own review decide what ships.

How I work

  • Facts before edits. An inventory, the official changelog and a measured baseline of the live site come before the first line of code.
  • Small, reversible steps. One LTS version at a time, a database dump before every write, and a green check before the next step.
  • Core APIs over shortcuts. Dependency injection, PSR-14 events, site sets and typed PHP 8 instead of XCLASSes and copied core code.
  • AI as a force multiplier. Agents do the legwork; tests, static analysis and review decide what ships.

    a Claude Code plugin that upgrades whole TYPO3 projects from v10 to v14, one LTS at a time, and proves each step against how the site behaved before. This site was upgraded with it.

  • typo3-extension-migration

    a Claude Code plugin that moves TYPO3 extensions to the next LTS and checks the result on every version they claim to support.
